Shaun Shubert
Shaun Shubert, Fighter Portrait

Shaun Shubert, has been a part of combat sports for about 10 years. At that time, only boxing and MMA was legalized in MA.  With Shubert’s classic karate background, MMA made the most sense.   Since, he has always been more of a striker.

As a result of some hard years and a lot of beatings, Shubert linked up with Shawn Graham of FAF in Holbrook. Consequently, he continues training with Shawn, for about 7 years now. They started doing Muay Thai and Kickboxing shows about 3 years ago. The fights were going his way and it appeared he had found his niche.

With that, Shubert found that the people around him motivate and influence him, day in and day out.  First the coaches that put in the time, then the guys that give their body’s up to work with him,  and the people that come to his gym (Red Seal Martial Arts Co) to train.

As a fighter, he has never been one to follow stats and players. Looking at everyone and everything (boxing, MMA, kickboxing) at the surface level, and just keeping his nose to the grindstone. In all, his self improvement is always more of a focus than what everyone else is doing.

Lion Fight North East American Ammy Title

Lion Fight 46 Title Fight

Winning the title for Lion Fight 46 was a win on so many levels for him. The 1st ammy title fight Lion Fight has ever had. At this point in time the most well known and recognized platform for Muay Thai fighters. It was a personal goal to be the cream of the crop at the amateur level and humbly if he is not the “best” 150 ammy Muay Thai fighter he will be fighting the best. That’s all he has ever wanted. Since that fight he has been working on breaking into full rules and doing some pro Muay Thai in the near future.

Fighting is fighting to Shubert, always having a passion about it.  In addition with this journey he has a high regard for the crew at Trifecta and Jurrell himself. When Shubert and Jurrell fought their first fight, he (arguably) lost to a split by a point. Following that they offered him a rematch, which rarely happens for ammy fights and with a title shot, another aspect that never happens. Shubert undoubtedly jumped at the opportunity. One of the biggest changes for Shubert was brining in Big John Espada for his strength and conditioning. John and Shawn also worked closely together with Shubert to clean up his movements to go with his personality.
